If you were to calculate the percentage of people who buy a new car each year, you'd be surprised to know that Australia is already a car country. Interestingly, the number of Australians who will purchase a new car from China is increasing significantly, with 16.8% planning to do so within the next four years.
The number of car sales in Australia is continuing to fall across all states. The lowest month to purchase a new car is January, with Qld seeing the biggest drop. Meanwhile, the highest month for buying a new car is March, with the median price of a new car falling by 3.8%. The highest month of the year was February, with sales dropping by 6.7%. The trend is also reflected in the number of people who plan to buy a used vehicle during 2020.
